Blind Spot Test
Car mirrors are helpful for viewing what is happening behind your car, but there are some major areas that they miss. It's important to easily be able to turn their heads and view both of the blind spots.
To start the test:
To start the test:
- Have the person being tested get into their car and sit straight up, as if they are driving.
- Move away from the car until they say they can no longer see you in their mirror (stand so that you are in the 'corner' of their blind spot).
- Ask them to turn around so that they can see you. Observe how quickly and easily they can turn.
- If the person being tested is not able to turn to see you, that could be a potential hazard and their ability to drive should be reconsidered.
